'Tis seems to be the season...

...for meeting old friends and making new acquaintances.

Let me start with the old ones first. I've recently gotten back in touch with a couple of people whom I haven't seen for a long long time. One for almost a year now, and the other for about, um, maybe four years, give or take a few months. The one-year person and I recently had coffee at her place this past January. We caught up on each other's lives, and she actually called me up last night to see if we could meet. We plan on meeting each other at least once a month now.

The four-year person and I met today, and he treated me to lunch (thanks, Witchy, for the reco, the place is really inexpensive, though I wish they had coffee...). We've been in touch for a couple of weeks now and bits and pieces of our lives have already been shared over that period, so we didn't really delve into any life updating thing this afternoon. He accompanied me on my grocery shopping, showed me what he and his wife usually buys, and recommended that I buy healthier fare than what I normally get. Aargh. Well, I really do need to eat healthier anyway, so thanks, mister. :-)

As for new acquaintances...

Last night, I met Witchy's friends from her Kendo Club. They seem like nice people and I was able to talk to three or four of them for a little bit. Now I only have to match names to faces. I only remember about 5 names though, out of the fourteen or so new faces there. Our mutual friend Ronan put some photos of the pizza party at his Facebook account. I'll check them out later.

And then this afternoon, when I came back from grocery shopping laden down with about a dozen plastic bags, I met my neighbor. He looks kind of like my age, and helped me with my packages. I live in Penthouse A and he lives in Penthouse C. We talked for a bit and he asked how long I've been living in the building and we found out we moved in almost at the same time. He seems nice. :-)
